MCP server

Add the API to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or Claude Code and ask in plain English.

The MCP server puts the API in front of an assistant as tools. Ask "what runs at Cheltenham today?" and it calls the right endpoint with your key.

Adding it

• Claude and ChatGPT: add a custom connector with the address above. You sign in and allow it once; it uses your own key and plan.
• Claude Code: claude mcp add --transport http horseracingapi https://horseracingapi.co.uk/mcp --header "X-API-Key: YOUR_KEY"
• Cursor and other clients: the same address, with your key in the X-API-Key header.

An example

Asked "who won the big handicap at Musselburgh yesterday, and how did the market move?", the assistant calls results_for_date, picks the race, then calls race_market with its id, and answers with the winner, the starting price and the move.

Plans

Every tool calls the API with your key, so your plan's window and limits apply. A tool your plan does not reach says which plan has it.
